Merger: Cascade Fiberworks

Hello all. We've got some interesting news to share now that we're starting to get all geared up. I will keep this blog and my individual artist page , however there is a merger occurring between myself and my spouse since she's learned to crochet as well. When she was just knitting a few hats it made sense to have some separation, but now it really only makes sense to use one name to make marketing easier. So we will be posting together under  Cascade Fiberworks . It does feel a bit like starting over, but it makes sense and it's better to do it now than later.

Pattern release!

Today I released two crochet patterns on Etsy ! I'll likely check out Ravelry to host my patterns as well. But for now, Etsy hosting is okay despite my issues with Etsy. I'm in love with how these sweeties have turned out! I especially love the eyes I recently purchased. They're holographic moon shaped safety eyes ! They really add a different face to the plushies and I think I'll be trying to get more, I only have 16mm currently. Here are the pictures I took of my pattern creations: All of my socials are in my Linktree !  What should I create next?

Hooked on crochet

Crochet, a timeless craft that has been a source of comfort, creativity, and community for generations, has become a beloved passion for many and continued to gain popularity. With its gentle rhythms and soothing textures, crochet has a way of captivating hearts and minds, providing a sense of calm and fulfillment. In this blog post, we'll delve into the world of crochet, exploring its benefits, versatility, and the reasons why it remains a cherished hobby for so many despite being invented relatively recently, considering the robust history of needlecraft. Crochet offers a wide range of benefits that extend beyond the physical act of creating something with yarn and a hook. The gentle repetitive motions can be meditative, reducing stress and anxiety while promoting relaxation. The sense of accomplishment that comes with completing a project can boost self-esteem and confidence. Moreover, crochet provides an opportunity for social connection, whether through joining crochet communi

Crocheting a kiwi!

Hello all! I'm currently working on a large kiwi bird  in cotton. I'm using a tan/beige color for the beak and feet, and three different browns for the body. Maybe three different browns is a bit much, but I really want to add some highlight while not making it very colorful. I've used 14mm sparkle eyes here as well! I can't wait to see it all done, I've been debating on whether I want to make a kiwi slice for the bottom, or if I'm going to make just the bird. I think my sense of humor sometimes runs away with me! I've also made this super cute dolphin out of Bernat Blanket yarn, this is a paid pattern by crochetbykittengrll  and it turned out quite large in the blanket yarn! There's a quick video on my FB page if you want to see more details. I do think that these big projects are nice to have to draw attention to a market table, however items that are $20 and less always have a better chance at selling, simply because more people can afford them.   Ch-ch-ch-ch-cherry bomb! To put on your mirror, put the connecting chain under the black mirror and bring upwards, put each side over to the opposite side.
